Air conditioning installation and repair in Rotherham
Homes and small businesses that need split or wall-mounted air conditioning installed, serviced or repaired.
About air conditioning
Air conditioning installation and repair in Rotherham covers split and wall-mounted units for homes and small businesses. We survey the rooms you want cooled, agree where the indoor and outdoor units can sit, then quote clearly before work starts.
We hold F-gas certification for the refrigerant work. Servicing and repair are available as well as new installs across Sheffield, Doncaster and Barnsley.
Hot bedrooms, home offices and small commercial spaces are the jobs we see most. If you need a heat pump for whole-home heating, see our heat pumps page.

Split and wall-mounted units for homes and small businesses
Most domestic and small commercial jobs use a wall-mounted indoor unit paired with an outdoor condenser. Warm room air passes over a cold coil; the heat is pumped outside and cooler air returns to the room. We plan the pipe run, condensate drain and mounting points so the install is tidy and serviceable later.
Small offices, shops and home workspaces are common requests alongside house installs. Tell us how the space is used when you book so we size the visit correctly.
Cool rooms for sleep, work and children
South-facing bedrooms, loft rooms and glazed extensions can stay hot long after the sun has gone. That makes sleep harder for adults and children, and it makes home working in a warm room a struggle through the afternoon.
A well-placed split unit cools the rooms you actually use. We do not push whole-house kit when one or two rooms are the problem. You tell us which spaces matter; we survey those first.
Energy bills, sizing and servicing
An oversized unit short-cycles and wastes electricity. An undersized unit runs flat out and still leaves the room warm. Sizing to the room, the glazing and how the space is used is what keeps comfort up and the bill under control.
Blocked filters, neglected coils and low refrigerant all make a unit work harder for less cooling. Regular servicing is the cheapest way to keep performance steady. Repair covers units that no longer cool or heat properly, leak refrigerant, or show fault codes.
F-gas certification covers the refrigerant side of install and repair work. Call 07932 552087 and describe the make, model and fault if you already have a unit on the wall.

Every 12 months, under the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998, and there is no grace period. A record that expired yesterday is a breach. You can book up to two months before expiry and keep your original renewal date, which is the simplest way to avoid a gap. The tenant must have a copy within 28 days, or before a new tenant moves in, and you need to keep records for two years.
Since the 2022 revision of Part L, a replacement gas boiler in South Yorkshire has to be at least 92% ErP efficient. The system needs thermostatic radiator valves on every radiator except the one in the room holding the main thermostat, and an in-line filter has to be fitted. We also carry out a heat loss calculation so the boiler is not significantly oversized, and clean, flush and inhibit the system to BS 7593 before commissioning. The installation is notifiable, so you receive a Building Regulations compliance certificate.
Checking the appliance runs to the manufacturer's specification, a flue gas analysis, gas rate and operating pressure checks, inspection of the flue and ventilation, a look at system pressure and expansion vessel charge, and purging the system filter. We also test the inhibitor level, which BS 7593 expects annually. You get a written record of what was found, including anything that needs attention before it becomes a breakdown.
It is the commissioning record in the documentation supplied with your boiler, completed by the installer when the appliance is set up and signed again at each annual service. Manufacturers generally require it, along with yearly servicing, for the guarantee to stay valid. Miss a year on a boiler with a long warranty and you can lose cover you have already paid for, so it is worth knowing where that book is.
