Central heating installation in Rotherham
Homes needing a full heating system, upgrades during renovation, or repairs when radiators and controls misbehave.
About central heating
Central heating installation in Rotherham is more than hanging a boiler. Pipework, radiators, controls and how the system is balanced decide how warm the house feels and what you pay each month.
We also handle central heating repairs: cold radiators, banging pipes, pressure that keeps dropping. Those are symptoms. We find the cause across Rotherham, Sheffield, Doncaster and Barnsley so the same fault does not return in a month.
Putting heating into a property that has never had it is a bigger job than a swap. We plan the supply, pipework, boiler and radiators around the rooms, then talk it through before work starts.

Full central heating installation
A heating system is more than the boiler. Pipework routes, radiator sizes, thermostatic controls and balancing all decide comfort and running cost. We design around the house the system is going into, including older South Yorkshire stock with quirky layouts.
New gas central heating in a property that never had it needs the supply, pipe runs, boiler and radiators planned together. Happy to visit and scope it out before you commit.
Central heating repairs that stay fixed
Cold radiators, banging pipes and pressure that keeps dropping are symptoms. The fault might be a pump, a valve, sludge, or controls fighting each other. We work through it properly rather than swapping parts until something sticks.
Sometimes the boiler is fine and the system around it is not. That is why a heating engineer visit often saves money versus another boiler-only callout.

Getting the system right, not just the boiler
Most heating complaints we are called to are circuit problems rather than appliance problems. Radiators that never warm properly, a house that will not hold temperature, a boiler cycling on and off, these usually trace back to balancing, sludge or sizing rather than a failing boiler.
Part L requires thermostatic radiator valves on every radiator except the one in the room holding the main thermostat, plus an in-line system filter, whenever a heat generator is replaced. Zoning larger properties, so you are not heating empty rooms, is a straightforward improvement on top of that.
System water is dosed with inhibitor to BS 7593 and the level tested at each annual service, with a re-dose or full water test every five years. On systems with microbore pipework this matters more, not less: a small bore chokes on sludge that a larger pipe would carry.
Thermostat and heating controls
A room thermostat, programmer and thermostatic radiator valves decide how hard the boiler works and what you pay to run it. We fit and replace thermostats as part of central heating work, including upgrades when an old dial or a failed wireless unit is leaving the house either too hot or never quite warm enough.
On a boiler replacement, Part L expects proper controls: a room thermostat, TRVs on every radiator except the one in the thermostat room, and a way to set heating times. We wire and set those up as part of the install rather than leaving you with a boiler that has no useful control.

FAQs
Yes. We diagnose and repair heating faults as well as installing complete systems across South Yorkshire.
Yes. That needs proper planning for the gas supply, pipe runs, boiler and radiators. We visit, scope the job and quote clearly.
Yes. Sheffield and the wider South Yorkshire area are covered from our Rotherham base.
Every 12 months, under the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998, and there is no grace period. A record that expired yesterday is a breach. You can book up to two months before expiry and keep your original renewal date, which is the simplest way to avoid a gap. The tenant must have a copy within 28 days, or before a new tenant moves in, and you need to keep records for two years.
Three things, and they often save you a visit. Is there a fault code showing on the boiler display, what does the pressure gauge read when the system is cold, and does gas still work elsewhere in the house, such as the hob. Tell us those three answers along with the make and rough age of the boiler and there is a much better chance we arrive with the right part on the van.
On a new installation you have no choice: an in-line filter has been required under Building Regulations Part L since 2022, and BS 7593 expects one on all systems. On an existing system it is still worth fitting. The filter collects magnetite before it reaches the pump and heat exchanger, and it only keeps working if the magnet stack is actually removed and purged at each annual service rather than glanced at.
Ten to fifteen years is typical for a well-maintained domestic boiler, and considerably less on a system with no inhibitor and no filter. What ends most of them is not age but a heat exchanger or pump destroyed by sludge. That is exactly what annual servicing, a filter and correct inhibitor levels are there to prevent, which is why the system around the boiler matters as much as the appliance.
