Boiler installation and replacement in Rotherham
Homes ready for a new boiler, a like-for-like swap, or a replacement after repairs stop making sense.
About boiler installation
Boiler installation in Rotherham should be sized to the house, not to a price list. We supply and fit combi, system and conventional boilers, register the warranty in your name, and leave the system commissioned and explained.
Sheffield sees a lot of our install work too, along with Doncaster and Barnsley. Straight swaps are often done in a day. Dust sheets go down, the old unit comes out, and we tidy before we leave.
If your current boiler still has life in it, we say so after diagnostics. When replacement is the better call, quotes are fixed up front. That includes high-efficiency and condensing options from major manufacturers.

Combi, system or conventional: picking the right boiler
Combi boilers suit many homes: no tank, no cylinder, hot water on demand. They are not right for every property. Water pressure, bathroom count and how the household uses hot water all matter.
System and conventional setups still make sense where stored hot water or multiple bathrooms need more than a combi can deliver comfortably. We will say so when a different layout is the better fit, even if a combi quote would have been simpler to sell.
Longer warranties depend on who fits the boiler as much as which badge is on the front. We install to manufacturer spec so the full guarantee stands.
Replacing an old boiler
Replacement makes more sense than another repair when the boiler is ageing and parts keep failing, or when keeping it going would cost more than a new unit. Since the 2022 revision of Part L, a replacement gas boiler has to be at least 92% ErP efficient, so an older appliance that falls short of that standard is often better swapped than patched again.
We remove the old boiler as part of the job. Straight like-for-like swaps are often done in a day: dust sheets go down, the old unit comes out, and the new boiler is fitted and commissioned before we leave.
If you are not sure whether repair or replacement is the better call, start with a diagnosis. Our boiler repair team will tell you straight after looking at the appliance, with no pressure to buy a new one.
Supply and fit without surprise markups
We supply as well as fit, so you are not paying a merchant markup on top of a separate fitting charge. Quotes cover the boiler, the install and the tidy finish you see on the day.
Rising bills and repeat repairs usually mean a boiler is on its way out. We take the old unit away and leave the system balanced. If power flushing is wise before the new boiler goes in, we say so up front rather than discovering sludge mid-job.

What Building Regulations require
Since the 2022 revision of Part L, a replacement gas boiler has to be at least 92% ErP efficient. The system needs thermostatic radiator valves on every radiator except the one in the room holding the main thermostat, and an in-line system filter has to be fitted.
We carry out a room-by-room heat loss calculation so the boiler is not significantly oversized, which Part L also requires. Oversizing is the common mistake: a boiler that is too big short-cycles, wasting gas and wearing components faster than one correctly matched to the property.
Before commissioning, the system is cleaned, flushed and dosed with inhibitor to BS 7593. Flue positions follow BS 5440 and the manufacturer's minimum clearances from windows, doors, boundaries and eaves. The installation is notifiable work, so we notify it and you receive your Building Regulations compliance certificate along with a completed Benchmark record.

It is the commissioning record in the documentation supplied with your boiler, completed by the installer when the appliance is set up and signed again at each annual service. Manufacturers generally require it, along with yearly servicing, for the guarantee to stay valid. Miss a year on a boiler with a long warranty and you can lose cover you have already paid for, so it is worth knowing where that book is.
Nine times out of ten it is a frozen condensate pipe. A condensing boiler produces acidic water that has to drain away, and where that pipe runs outside it can freeze solid, at which point the boiler shuts down on a fault rather than flooding itself. Thawing it gets you going again the same day. Lagging it with external-grade insulation, increasing the pipe diameter or re-routing it to an internal drain is what stops it happening every winter.
Three things, and they often save you a visit. Is there a fault code showing on the boiler display, what does the pressure gauge read when the system is cold, and does gas still work elsewhere in the house, such as the hob. Tell us those three answers along with the make and rough age of the boiler and there is a much better chance we arrive with the right part on the van.
On a new installation you have no choice: an in-line filter has been required under Building Regulations Part L since 2022, and BS 7593 expects one on all systems. On an existing system it is still worth fitting. The filter collects magnetite before it reaches the pump and heat exchanger, and it only keeps working if the magnet stack is actually removed and purged at each annual service rather than glanced at.
