Emergency boiler repair in Rotherham
Anyone with no heating or hot water who cannot wait for a weekday slot, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
About emergency repair
Emergency boiler repair in Rotherham does not wait for office hours. If the heating is out in a cold snap or you have no hot water on a Sunday night, we take callouts around the clock across South Yorkshire.
We cover Sheffield, Doncaster and Barnsley as well. Tell us what the boiler is doing and we aim to get an engineer to you the same day. Many urgent jobs are stabilised and repaired on the first visit.
If you can smell gas, call the National Gas Emergency line first on 0800 111 999. For everything else urgent (no heat, no hot water, or an appliance that will not run safely) ring us.

Boiler breakdown: what counts as an emergency
No heating or hot water in cold weather, an active leak, or an appliance that will not run safely. If you are unsure, call and we will advise. Better to ask than sit through a night with young children and no heat.
Smell gas? That is different. Call the National Gas Emergency line on 0800 111 999 first. Do not use electrical switches. Once the network has made the situation safe, we can help with follow-on repair and testing.
Same-day aim across South Yorkshire
We take emergency boiler repair callouts across Rotherham, Sheffield, Doncaster and Barnsley. Traffic and diary load affect exact arrival times. We will be honest about how soon we can reach you when you call.
Many breakdowns are back up in the same visit because common parts travel with the engineer. When a major part has to be ordered, we leave you with a clear plan rather than silence.
After the emergency
Once heat is back, we can talk about whether an annual service or a longer-term replacement would cut the chance of another cold-snap failure. That conversation can wait until you are warm. It does not have to happen on the doorstep at midnight.
Before you call, and what happens when you do
If you can smell gas, ring the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999 first, not us. Do not touch electrical switches, open doors and windows, and turn the gas off at the meter if you can reach it safely. They attend free of charge and make the situation safe; we handle the repair afterwards.
For a no-heating call, three things help us before we set off: any fault code on the display, what the pressure gauge reads when the system is cold, and whether gas still works elsewhere in the house such as the hob. Those answers often identify the fault before we arrive and mean a better chance we carry the right part.
In cold weather the single most common cause of a boiler shutting down is a frozen condensate pipe. It is not a breakdown as such, and thawing it usually restores heat the same day. A permanent fix means external-grade lagging, a larger diameter external run, or re-routing the pipe to an internal drain.

Since the 2022 revision of Part L, a replacement gas boiler in South Yorkshire has to be at least 92% ErP efficient. The system needs thermostatic radiator valves on every radiator except the one in the room holding the main thermostat, and an in-line filter has to be fitted. We also carry out a heat loss calculation so the boiler is not significantly oversized, and clean, flush and inhibit the system to BS 7593 before commissioning. The installation is notifiable, so you receive a Building Regulations compliance certificate.
It is a chemical dosed into the heating water that stops the inside of steel radiators corroding and forming magnetite, the black sludge that wrecks pumps and heat exchangers. BS 7593 expects the level to be tested annually and either re-dosed or fully tested every five years. It is one of the cheapest things you can do to extend the life of a boiler, and it is routinely the thing nobody has checked.
A combi heats water on demand and needs no cylinder or tanks, which suits smaller properties with one bathroom. A system boiler works with an unvented cylinder, storing hot water so several outlets can run at once. A heat-only, or conventional, boiler uses a cylinder plus a cold tank in the loft, and is what most older properties were built with. Which suits you depends on how many bathrooms are in use and on your incoming water flow rate, which is worth measuring rather than guessing.
Yes. BS 5440 and the manufacturer's instructions set minimum clearances from windows, doors, boundaries, eaves and other openings, and those distances are what usually decides where a boiler can sit. Conservation areas and listed buildings can place further limits on a visible terminal. It is worth settling the flue route at survey rather than on installation day, because it changes the job more than the choice of appliance does.
