Boiler repair in Rotherham
Homeowners and landlords across South Yorkshire with no heat, no hot water, fault codes or a boiler that keeps locking out.
About boiler repair
Boiler repair in Rotherham is how most of our jobs start. No heat, no hot water, a fault code on the display, or a boiler that locks out again and again. We find the fault, explain it in plain English, and give you a clear price before any work starts.
We cover Sheffield, Doncaster and Barnsley as well as Rotherham. Our Gas Safe engineers work on combi, system and conventional boilers from the main domestic brands, including Worcester Bosch, Vaillant, Baxi, Ideal Heating, Viessmann and Glow-worm. Common parts are on the van, so a lot of repairs finish in one visit.
If a repair is not worth doing, we say so. After diagnostics you get a straight answer, not a push toward a new boiler.

Common boiler faults we see in South Yorkshire
A lot of callouts come down to the same problems. Low pressure after a recent bleed. A stuck diverter valve that leaves you with heat but no hot water. A failed pump. Ignition faults. Or a PCB that has given up after years of use.
Older properties around Rotherham and Sheffield often run boilers that have been patched more than once. We check whether the next repair makes sense, or whether the money is better spent on a replacement before winter.
Bring the fault code if the display shows one. It does not replace a proper diagnosis, but it shortens the list of things we need to rule out.
Repair first, replace only when it makes sense
We carry common parts so most boiler repairs finish in one visit. If a part has to be ordered, we explain the lead time and book the return.
When a boiler is past economical repair, we set out install options without pressure. You decide. Our job is to give you the information to decide well.
Boiler repair across Rotherham, Sheffield, Doncaster and Barnsley
We are Gas Safe registered (625280) and based in Rotherham, so local jobs are everyday work rather than a long drive from outside the county. Sheffield, Doncaster and Barnsley are covered the same way.
For urgent no heat or no hot water, use our 24/7 emergency line. For everything else, book a standard repair slot that fits around your day.
What we check, and against what standard
Every repair starts with the same checks whatever the fault: system pressure at the gauge, which should sit around 1.0 to 1.5 bar cold and rise by roughly 0.3 to 0.7 bar once the heating runs, the fault code on the display, gas working pressure at the appliance, and the condition of the system water.
We run a flue gas analysis before and after, so we can show the appliance is burning correctly rather than just running. Where the fault traces back to system water rather than the boiler, we say so: magnetite sludge destroys pumps and heat exchangers, and BS 7593 expects inhibitor to be tested annually and re-dosed or fully tested every five years.
Repairs are carried out by Gas Safe registered engineers, registration 625280. You can check that number on the Gas Safe Register before we start, and the ID card also shows which types of work an engineer is qualified for.
How boiler repair works, step by step
Call or message
Tell us the make, model and what the boiler is doing. Fault codes help if you have them.
Diagnose on site
We test the system properly instead of guessing and swapping parts on a hunch.
Clear price
You get the fault explained and a fixed price before we start the repair.
Fix and test
We complete the repair, fire the boiler through a full cycle, and leave you with heat and hot water where possible.
What's included
- Combi, system and conventional boiler repairs
- No heating / no hot water diagnosis
- Leaks, pressure faults and error codes
- PCB, pump, diverter and sensor faults
- Clear fixed price before work starts
What it costs
We do not publish a fixed repair price online because the cost depends on the fault, the appliance and the parts. After diagnosis you get a clear fixed price before we start the repair.

FAQs
We aim for same day attendance where diaries allow. For urgent no heat or no hot water, use our 24/7 emergency line.
Yes. We regularly repair boilers across Sheffield, Doncaster, Barnsley and nearby towns from our Rotherham base.
Yes. After diagnosis we explain the fault and the cost before we carry out the repair.
Checking the appliance runs to the manufacturer's specification, a flue gas analysis, gas rate and operating pressure checks, inspection of the flue and ventilation, a look at system pressure and expansion vessel charge, and purging the system filter. We also test the inhibitor level, which BS 7593 expects annually. You get a written record of what was found, including anything that needs attention before it becomes a breakdown.
Do not touch electrical switches. Open doors and windows, turn the gas off at the meter if you can reach it safely, get everyone out, and ring the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999 before you ring anybody else. They attend free of charge and make the situation safe. Once it is safe, call us on 07932 552087 for the repair itself.
Where the cold patch sits tells you which problem you have. Cold at the top and warm at the bottom is air, and it just needs bleeding. Cold at the bottom and warm at the top is sludge sitting in the radiator. Whole radiators that stay cool while others are hot usually means the system has never been balanced, which is adjusted at the lockshield valves and costs a fraction of a new boiler. We check in that order rather than starting with the expensive answer.
Since the 2022 revision of Part L, a replacement gas boiler in South Yorkshire has to be at least 92% ErP efficient. The system needs thermostatic radiator valves on every radiator except the one in the room holding the main thermostat, and an in-line filter has to be fitted. We also carry out a heat loss calculation so the boiler is not significantly oversized, and clean, flush and inhibit the system to BS 7593 before commissioning. The installation is notifiable, so you receive a Building Regulations compliance certificate.
